Cornwall Home Ed Camp 17-20 September

Hello campers!!

The Cornwall Home Ed camp is at Nine Ashes Scout Camp,  bang in the middle of the A30 and A39!

If you come up or down the A39 take turning for Bodmin A389. Then take turning for Camelford B3266. The camp is a little way along on the left hand side.

If you are on the A30 either take the Lanivet turning A391and then the A389  or go to Bodmin and take the  A389, either way follow the A389 and head for Wadebridge. About 3 miles down the road is a turning to Camelford B3266. the camp is a little way along this road.

The camp is near to Pencarrow house and is in fact in part of the estate so if you see signs for that you know you’re close by!

What to bring…

A tent obviously!!! Plus all your gear.  Camper vans are allowed but have to stay in the car park. All vehicles have to stay off the grass but trolleys are provided for moving your gear to your pitch.

Food and cooking equipment. Don’t forget the matches!! and bin bag.

There are earth ovens and a fire altar to cook on as well. I guess we’ll sort out the whys and hows when we get there! There is a fire circle but we are not allowed to cook on that.

There are plenty of shops in both Bodmin and Wadebridge for picking up fresh supplies. We could maybe do car shares and baby sitting to make it easier. Both towns are about 3 miles away. It would maybe nice at least one of the evenings to all eat together. A bbq on the fire altar etc. I’m sure we’ll suss it out once we’re there. I’m sure meal times can be as private or as public ie in a group, as we all feel comfortable with.

It would also be nice to bring with you any activity that we could share. Maybe a guitar etc for singing around the fire or a bat and ball or craft bits in case of rain, (please let’s all pray the weather stays like it is today!!)

The Camel Trail is close by so if you want to and can, bring bikes. There is plenty to do on site,  adventure play area and woodland trails and enjoying a big space but if you want to venture off site then As I said, Bodmin and Wadebridge are close. Also Pencarrow House is next door!

I hope to be there on Thursday from about 11am but best laid plans and all that!!

Finally, I will be asking for everyones money when they arrive so that I can pass on the balance to the scout camp. To remind you it’s £2.50 per person per night. So if you have already paid your £10 deposit just deduct that from your total.
