A new HE group, Corwnall Alternative Learners (CAL), will be starting on Friday 26 February at Marazion Community Centre. The group will be running on Fridays from 10am-3pm, following school term dates.

Prices have been set to try and cover hall hire and running costs and will be:

£15 Annual family membership fee
Session costs:
£4.50 for one child
£6.50 for 2 children
£8.50 for 3 children
£10.00 for 4 or more children.
Children under 18mths will be free of charge.

If you would like to pay termly, there will be a 10% discount.

The group will be providing a number of optional activities throughout the day, catering for all ages and interests.  We hope to follow the children’s lead with what activities will be offered.

Alongside these scheduled activities, there will be a number of ‘open all day’ alternatives that kids can dip in and out of – these will include things like painting, craft, playdough, boardgames and books.  We really hope to provide a warm, friendly supportive environment for all the family.

Please can everyone bring their own lunches, we will try to all eat together. On the first day, to celebrate getting up and running we thought it would be nice to share some cake (or similar) – it would be great if you could bring something along to share!

Our first days activities include – science, yoga, group games, drama/country dancing, German, anatomy, singing/stories for little ones and lots of art and crafts. We are also planning a brief meeting to discuss the running of the group and to see what future activities the kids would like.

If anyone feels they have a skill to share and would like to offer an activity, please let me know and we will schedule you in!  This could be anything from drama, sport, singing, languages, art/craft etc etc.

7. We have a number or resources already including paper, material scraps, board games and puzzles, pencils and crayons and we’ll be getting paints and brushes. However we have very limited funds to start off with (we will be applying for grants) so if anyone has anything that they could either lend or donate that would be great. Also if people could bring in some kid sized scissors (labelled if you want them back!) until we can afford to buy some, that would be lovely.
