Sessions are held at the Lescudjack Children’s Centre, Penmere Close, PZ. Normally in the gym downstairs, but may be up in the conference room. ***Mondays 2-4pm*** (unless otherwise stated).

The workshops cost £1.50 for families with one child under the age of 4, £2.50 for one child four or over, and £3 for more than one child over four.
We adopt the Education Otherwise guidelines and rules for the safe running of the group, (copies with Ruth) and the centre ask us not to bring hot drinks into the gym. The group organiser is Ruth Boulton (01736 350887).
Swimming
Weekly on Wednesdays at Penzance Leisure Centre from 12 onwards. Just turn up, and pay regular swim entrance fee.

April 26th
Jacob Cockle
Local award winning young photographer, Jacob Cockle is returning to inspire us to take up photography ourselves!!

Jake says: “ I have lots of new photos/projects to show and discuss. Also really interested to see any work brought in by the class and offer advice on how to get a similar shot or critique on any of their photos.

Then for the 2nd half if there is time possibly take some shots either in the hall or near by using my new bits of kit.

May 3rd NO SESSION – BANK HOLIDAY

May 10th
Annie Metcalf – Collage
Annie has worked with us before on creating art journals, and this time is coming to do a session on collage, as she is working with young people in the community with collage projects. Annie has suggested visiting the Tate St. Ives exhibition of Dexter Dalwood, who created much of his work using collage. The exhibition runs until May 3rd. You could also look up the Tate St. Ives website, go to ‘current exhibitions’ and click on the art piece.

May 17th
Roger White from ‘east of here’, Chapel Street
A session about Roger’s links with ‘project mala’ an anti-slavery charity which empowers families to earn a decent independent income in India through carpet making. Roger will be relaying some of the 15 children’s lifestyles he has been supporting and tell us how the carpets are made, hopefully bringing some along to show us.

May 24th
Bryan Mills from Cornwall College
Subject to be confirmed, but something around environmental sciences.

Mondays hereafter, meet at Penlee Park for games and get-together – still 2-4pm
